The SEC named Phil Mickelson in May as a “relief defendant,” but did not charge him with a crime in an insider trading case. The slip-up is unlikely to hurt Mickelson with his sponsors, who love the his ability to connect with fans and customers. Endorsement partners include Callaway, Barclays, KPMG, Exxon Mobil, Rolex and Amgen, which makes psoriatic arthritis drug Enbrel (Mickelson was diagnosed with the disease in 2010).
